Peace I Give You

Bible Recollection Of The Day - Monday John 14:27

In olden times this was a common form of greeting among the Jews. It calls up, from one human being to another blessings of peace and happiness in a mere human form. In this verse however, it is much more than a mere form or an empty wish. It came from Him who had power to make peace and to confer it on whom He pleased. Here it also refers to the consolation which He offers his disciples in view of His approaching death.

Jesus states that His peace is not of this world but peace that is Heavenly or Supernatural in nature and such that only He can give.

On a more personal note, you usually experience peace when you are alone. Say, that moment at the end of the day when you are just about to drift off to sleep. You heave a deep sigh and Aaah! just slowly slip away in blissful, peaceful sleep. Peace.

Or early in the morning taking a quiet walk in the woods, or a park when there's no-one around. Just quiet silence maybe broken by the chirping of birds. Peace.

The peace that Jesus gives you through His Holy Spirit surpasses all this. This Free Gift will keep you in perfect peace in the midst of chaos and confusion. All you have to do is accept this free gift from Jesus, open it and keep it in your heart.

So today,
Accept Jesus in your heart,
Accept the free gift of the Holy Spirit,
And Enjoy the Peace that only He can give you. Forever.
